Fourteen years is a long time, but that is how long it had been since an original Mario platform game had appeared on a Nintendo handheld, would this new game manage to carve out it's own identity though or just copy what had gone before?

Once again Nintendo launched a new handheld system with a Mario game and like the last lot of games was a port of a home console game, this time the N64's Super Mario 64, again with it's bucket load of extras, but this time radically changing the single player game making  it a very different experience, but would is it any better or different than the original to be worth picking it up?
