Wii Successor to be unveiled at E3
Nintendo has came out and fully announced that the successor to the Wii will be unveiled at E3 in June in just over a months time, currently codename "project cafe" very little is known about the system itself other than it will be playable at the E3 event, and is currently scheduled for a release in the Summer of 2012.
This announcement has really came about from Nintendo from the sheer amount of rumors that have been coming from all sorts of parties all at once, and because of the sales of the Wii starting to slow down and the years release line up being pretty much non existent.
Rumours include thing like the power of the console being twice that of the PS3 and X-Box 360, which may not be far from the truth due to the length of time since those consoles have been released now and the price it would take to make a console more powerful would be less now than it was then. That the controller will have a built in screen and other random features such as gyroscopic controls.
Nintendo is being naturally secretive about the console itself other than the fact that their hand was forced and have admitted it will be shown in the coming months, one of the only certainties about the system is that it will most certainly be HD resolutions and more than likely be fully backwards compatible with both Wii and Gamecube games and all of the controllers and memory cards too, other than that very little is known other than the rumours floating around that have not been confirmed.
What ever happens it should certainly make Nintendo's E3 press conference very exciting and over the next moth or so the anticipation will more than likely intensify, but should make the coming month and year much more exciting now for Nintendo fans.
